Worked with other federal agencies such as the FBI. 

1982-91.  Supervisory Research Chemist, Organic Analytical Research Division. Center for Analytical Chemistry, National Measurement Laboratory, National Institute of Standards and Technology. Gaithersburg, MD – Supervised a group of 8 scientists working on protein standards and performing research on protein purification and separation methods.

1975-82.  Research Chemist, Organic Analytical Research Division, Center for Analytical Chemistry, National Measurement Laboratory, National Bureau of Standards. Gaithersburg, MD. Performed research leading to standards for the clinical laboratory, including reference materials for protein assays, drugs in serum, lead in blood, enzymes in serum and other analytes.

1971-75    Head, Dept. of Immunology, Microbiological Associates, Whittaker Bioproducts, Bethesda, MD/ Walkersville, MD.  Managed a group of ~20 researchers, technicians, veterinarians, and animal caretakers. Ran a research and production facility for commercialization of antibody-based reagents.  Duties included routine labeling of antibodies with various fluorescent reagents, performing quality assurance testing, and implementing a corporate move to new facilities. Researched new products and introduced the Limulus Amoebocyte Assay. Product reached over $12M in sales after ~ 6 years.

1966  Research Chemist: Campbell-Taggart Associated Bakeries, Dallas, TX. Performed research on the effects of thermostable enzymes on the process of bread hardening and staling.

1958  Analytical Chemist: Campbell-Taggart Associated Bakeries, Dallas, TX. Performed routine assays for moisture, ash, and Kjeldahl protein determination on wheat flour samples.
